23 Years, 3 Weeks, 20 hours, and 25 minutes Old

I started watching "Pushing Daisies" today, a highly recommended show from two very good-- but very bizarre-- friends.

The good: Chi McBride's character Emerson Cod is FANTASTIC. He made me laugh quite hard. The concept and the premise of the show are completely fascinating--one touch to bring someone back to life, a second to kill them, and a life for a life saved...awesome. Very creative. I especially love that he opened a pie place because it is brilliant, saving tons of money on dead or rotten fruit and just bringing them back to life.

The bad: VERY bizarre show. Understandably. And the specifics of how old people are getting is tedious. Michael thought it was interesting, but bizarre enough that I don't see him following through with it.

The verdict: I am going to keep going with the series, see how it grows on me. I have been looking for a new television show that is for just me to watch, instead of with Michael (our shows right now are Leverage, House, and Lie to Me), since I lost "Hotel Babylon" several weeks ago (the show just went down hill with the loss of Tamsin White, which by the by--LOVE the name Tamsin, as long as everyone would super secret pinkie swear to NEVER call her Tammy. Tam is okay, even encouraged).

  1. Don't let the time thing get tedious. Think of it this way: 60 seconds. 1 minute. Time is a HUGE part of the fabric of this series.

It may be bizzarre, but I thought the visual aspect would be a nice draw. The vibrant colors, the shots, the obviously artistic backdrop of a forever anonymous big city. It's like watching a live action comic book.

Of course my favorite part of the show is the dialogue. It reminds me of how my brain processes information, even if my mouth can't keep up with it. (Obviously the characters don't have that problem)

Oh, and one question... Is "Tam" encouraged because of River?

  2. Lol, I hadn't thought of that before, but now it is doubly cool--Tam is just a trim, chic little nickname based off a defensively British Tamsin. I think it's cute =)
